Mosquito's / Lamok

How are people handling the Mosquito/Lamok and potential sickness from bites problem? I use an anti-malaria pill for the short visits so far and bites have been a minor problem until this trip! The ankle biters have had their way and we are only part-way into the month. But after 11 years of just visiting, next year we get into multi-month part-time living in PH. Time to get some plans in place. So, what tricks does anyone use to avoid the bite? Keep eating PH food longer and I will no longer be the "special buffet" from the US for the Skeeters'?
