Just starting this collection of useful tips. There are 4 different plug types I here for electrical appliances. I have found one brand of surge protector power bar that fits them all without adaptors & the male plug fits snug in its female receptor: “Panther” brand (has a black panther logo). Also you will realise that the router with your modem is crap. You will need another router or range extender. I bought an ASUS RT-AC88U wireless AC3100 dual band Gigabit router. The configuration is a little tricky from their website, but there is an iPhone App that simplifies it. After plugging all the wires with the power off on everything, you power everything up an press the reset button to restore factory defaults and download the latest firmware. Your desktop menu will load all the utilities. You will need a power delay switch (Panther brand) because the surge protector is inadequate after a brown out when the power comes back on with a burst surge. The delay switch takes 5 minutes to allow power to its female receptors. We get Avery good 2.4 g and 5.0 g signal. Watch the YouTube for help configuring this router.
