Making a move to the Philippines

I have had the plan to move to the Philippines for a while now but just now getting things in motion as I have finally set a time period of when I would like to move. I have considered going to college while there and many of my Filipino friends suggested a Student visa. However, finding out this informstion of what i need has been a task and shown little to no results. The student visa really isn't the major concern as much as what would I need for me to live there permanently. I do know that if i olan to stay for 30 days I would not require and visas and that I an also apply for a extension of 29 days. What would be needed for me to stay permanently? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
