Long term visitation

So, quick history. My ex is Filipina. While we were still married (in the US) I sent her back to Bicol for a formal nursing education. During her 4 year degree program I visited the Phil quite often. I would regularly over stay my initial 3 week tourist visa by simply extending a month at a time.

Two questions: 1) Being a single guy, can I do this again? Extend month to month for say... two years? 2) What options are there that don't require endless paperwork and bribes to local officials?
