In 2021, I will turn 62 and hopefully complete my plan to become an expat and move from the USA to the Philippines. I have visited 5 times in the past 8 years. Never did I need a visa as my trips were not longer than 30 days. I know with my move, I will probably need a visa. Also, Covid19. Enough said, that has thrown a monkey wrench in many a good plan this year.
I am hoping to learn the options of the different visas along with the pros and cons. I believe a residence visa has a requirement for $10,000 in a Philippine bank, for example. Other than that, I would be happy and willing to hear any advice, especially in these Covid19 times.
What I am also wondering (if it's not too weird) if there is someone who I can contact that could be a sort of mentor to me, maybe perhaps on a skype call. Just trying to read up on everything, and now with Covid19 restrictions, is making my eyes glaze over. This mentoring thing is something I would be happy to do in the future, pay it forward, so to speak.
