Before coming to the RP in 2013 we established a relationship in the states with a wonderful couple who ship balikbayan boxes. That bit of forethought just came in handy.
Using the Walmart on line buying website, and PayPal as the payment method, my wife and I were able to stock up on clothing and a few household items.
The items were shipped to the address of the Balikbayan shipper in the U.S. with no shipping charge from Walmart. The items shipped from all over the U.S., so having no shipping charges was great bonus.
In the past I have tried using Walmart with a credit card and was not able to ship to an address that did not match the one for the credit card. PayPal solved that problem.
We were able to purchase western sized items from socks to shorts to shirts and all we need now is to wait for the next balikbayan shipment.
We have used Amazon in the past, though not with free shipping where a lot of items could wind up costing a bundle to ship to the RP.
The Walmart website also provides daily shipping status updates, and tracking via email and on their website. Very organized and hassle free.
The only shipping cost is for the balikbayn box it self.
