Just had a horribly painful R shoulder dislocation accident 2 nights ago. Spent 5 hours in the ER at Tagaytay Med Center. Only 2 other patients in the ER. Got seen by ER doc, and Senior Consulting doc within 15 minutes Labs including RT-PCR for hubby n I, EKG, 2 sets of shoulder xrays, IV and tablet analgesics. Ortho doctor at 1230am arriving 3 hours after xrays to reset my shoulder (done in less than 5 minutes from set up to finish and almost painlessly). My BP was higher, so my Attending kept me overnight for admission, since I was supposed to have labs and follow up anyway this month. I have Philhealth free as a Dual Citizen Senior, Tagaytay Med Stockholder shares, and Pacific Cross Blue Royale Insurance (with exclusions due to pre existing hypothyroid and Hypertension so anything heart/vascular/thyroid I am on my own). Had a private room with my hubby staying with and got the follow up labs and a 2dEcho done at the bedside. Total bill from ER to one night admission was P68k. My portion was P15k. Philhealth didn't kick in as supposed less than 24hours admit. As a Tagaytay Med's shareholders perk is free Room n Board, 50% off labs/procedures, discounts with MD. Most of the labs were part of the exclusion so we figured Pacific Cross will not cover most of what occurred once admitted. The Ortho MD charged P9000. I am home now, much better and just learning how to manage with a sling for 3 weeks.
