I worked in South Korea in the mid 2000's. It was weird because I saw small shops closing down or struggling for business while the large emarts and other department stores took their business. It was like the US in the 80's. Probably the 70's too, but I wasn't alive then. Anyway, it is a reminder that the world is always changing.
I would say Bohol is going through a similar change now. The larger Unitap or BQ grocery stores. I know if feels different because of the technology. Some things are there, others are different. Farm kids want to move to the city for jobs and college. Parents have no one to take over the farm.
I live in Florida and a lot of people are starting to have no options for home insurance because of litigation gone wild. The other extreme of the pendulum.
So now I wonder how much longer I will be able to see crazy stuff like 6 family members on one 125cc motorbike! Well, I already can't because they make everyone where helmets so they would never fit. Weird, cheap helmets that probably do more harm than good.
Or when the little kindergarten girls are outside the school cutting the grass by hand with a machete! How long can that last? In the US I had a friend stick a finger in a treadmill at age 2 and lost half a finger. Got 1Mil. Of course the greedy parents spent it all, but hey. Could that happen in PH? How rapidly? How rapidly will that change the mind blown factor? Would I even want to live in PH if it was dumbed down and lame like everywhere else?
Just what has been on my mind. I feel like inflation is pushing the issue faster. Forcing all nations to get more on the same plane.
So what's the craziest thing you've ever seen? When was it? Is it still possible to see?
