Just a heads up and a warning for any LGBT people or friends wishing to travel to Poland. The government there is now making threats of violence and discrimination against gay and lesbian citizens. These threats are coming from the highest reaches of the Polish government. Whole cities have now declared themselves "LGBT free zones", where gays or others who share their "dangerous ideology" are not welcome. There are growing fears that the right wing government will take even more drastic actions in the coming months. I would urge anyone who believes in freedom to think twice before visiting Poland or immigrating there. Violence is escalating, and activists are being jailed - where will it end? We don't know. The government there is also starting to restrict freedom of expression and political groups critical of its fascist rhetoric. It's a very ugly situation that looks like it will only get worse.
