D7 & VFS DC

Hello everyone. We have targeted to arrive at the Silver Coast in December, baring the hiccup concerns below. Being Florida residents, we go through VFS Washington DC. I have everything ready to go, but I want to avoid any delays, so anyone who knows the DC process best, please lend some input…

Sending in D7 Visa Packet:

Do we really have to email VFS for them to just send us pre-paid labels as the website states? If so, how fast is this process as it seems unnecessary if we can just send it all in ourselves with applicable costs and documents?

If there is an option #2 not on the website that allows us to just send in the packet, preferred service? FedEx, UPS…etc? Official address? I believe that I have read on this forum or the FB group that some members just sent in prepaid FedEx envelopes to return the visa’s and passports after admin by VFS and it expedited the whole process?

State of Notary Public on documents?

Is this a real sticking point with VFS? It states “should” be the state of residence so I need to know if they are flexible or has anyone been denied over this technicality? The reason being that we are between NY, IN, and TN over the next 5 weeks so that would be physically impossible for a Florida notary of residence. We would have done it before leaving FL but the VFS 90 day window was the reason it was not.

Sending the Passports Upfront:

To save time in processing, should we just send in the passports in along with the entire packet? Again, I have read some have sent it all together and other wait for approval to send them for the stamp?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help clarify any of these topics as it seems the goal posts to this process have changed repeatedly over the past two years of our planning.

Stay safe.
