Luggage Receipt

My experience with this is the worst possible.

As required, I packed up the list of goods in triplicated and two copies of the declaration, along with the letter of purpose, a 10x13 envelope with return postage. and a check for specified fee posted the consulate website. Result? Oh my lord! According to the latest exchange rate, the fee changed whilst my packet of goodies was in the mail and the consulate said, oh so sorry for you, but the new rate is blah blah blah and so we pack up all your goodies and send back.

WTF. They could have emailed or telephone ( email and phone are requested in the letter of purpose) but NO. Oh no, they took the low road, knowing I am already in PT and possibility of sending it all back with a return postage is all but impossible.

What a bunch of HOLES! Today I went to FedEx and UPS and they have no large envelopes and DHS who did, don't allow return envelopes inside.

So I'll pay import taxes on for old old stuff. For sure I'll spend significantly less while in PT, but my stay will be shorter than planned

Can't wait to meet with SEF of what a bunch of charmers they are.

I am ready to take my millions and go spend in another country. It took over four months to get the visa, and now this mean spirited nonsense on top of their deliberately slow processing time. As someone else on the forum noted -- they want adults to come spend their money here, but act like we're kids who can move on a moment's notice. Not worth moving here if that's their attitude

Spain may be the better option. STAY AWAY AND DON'T SPEND YOU MONEY HERE
