Hi, I'm an American living with my Turkish wife in Izmir Turkey. I expect to get an offer from a U.S. telecom company to work in Doha. I had a few questions I'm hoping someone can reassure me on:
1. Coming from a "moslem" country (sometimes I wonder), what is the story on socializing / night life ? Is it limited to hotel bars or is there anything else ? I'm a little spoiled here in Izmir (no limits) How easy is it to meet people / make friends ?
2. Will my Turkish wife be accosted on the street (if alone) because she looks like an Arab but dresses like a westerner ?
3. The company provides housing (shared villa first year, no spouse) and shared rental car. Salary is around $70k a year with vacation airfare. Work hours are 48+ a week. Does this sound normal ? The only thing negotiable is the salary.
