Activities/clubs in doha?

Hi,

I am a British male expat (40's) who has recently arrived in Doha and I am looking to make new friends by joining in with activities/clubs. The problem is, which ones? I am not really a bar fly, although the odd social drink is good. I enjoy conversation, cinema, theatre, sport and good food of course. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil
