Salary Expectations for UK Woman Teaching in Jeddah

Hi, folks

I know somebody who's considering accepting a teaching position position in Jeddah. She is US-educated and has a PhD from a leading US university in her field (which is in the Humanities, if that makes a difference), and would be coming directly from the States (where she and her American husband live). She's originally from the UK.

I mention all this because she's of South Asian descent, so I worry that they might try to offer her a non-Western salary. I myself have worked in the Gulf, so I've seen some of the shenanigans that can happen.

Can anyone give her a salary baseline to help her negotiate a fair deal?

For example, would SR 9,200/month be reasonable? Would that leave much over to save at the end of the month in Jeddah?

Thanks.

Sven
