Compound availability - getting the inside track

Hi all - arrived out in Riyadh late last month, and have been living out of a pokey little hotel room, whilst my company tries to arrange a spot on a compound.

They don't seem to be having much joy, probably because they just don't have the relationships with people INSIDE the compounds, who can weald the necessary influence.

That's why I'm hooking up with the Expat Exchange, in the hope that I can get a bit of an inside track, find somewhere decent to live and rediscover a bloody social life!

If anyone's got any hints/tips/contacts that might speed the process up a bit, I'm all ears!
