Where to begin

My husbands company asked him if we would be willing to make the move to Saudi Arabia. As an adventurous person I am always willing to try anything. But I know very little about living in Saudi Arabia. I know most expats live in compounds. But I wouldn't know how to choose one or which schools are good for my children. I don't even know which cities are preferable for Americans in The KSA. I am feeling quite overwhelmed. I know I would prefer a larger compound with lots of people and facilities, maybe even a school. Could anyone on here please help me get a good idea of "where to begin" my research?
