First time to move KSA

Im ahamed ibrahim,this is the first time im moving to ksa.company offering me a business development engineer,but they have given me a carpentor visa.I aaked them they replied me like this is only for stamping purpose if u come KSA you can change the Iqama status as per your craft.
Is it possible to change iqama and how many days it takes
Plz clarify..
