Family Moving To Ayrshire

I am an American married to a Scotsman and have two boys. Most of his family live in the town of Irvine. Do you think my sons will be accepted there? They are 10 and 8 years old. What are the schools like there? When I have met the boys cousins, I have been impressed with these kids and their overall general knowledge.
