Ensuring elderly parents are able to follow us to Scotland

Hi there,

My husband is in the process of finalising employment arrangements. We live in South Africa and have a 1 year old. We don't have family in Scotland but we feel it's the right move for our family as we are after safety, good education and quality life for our children. The thing is, I'm very close to my parents and this move is going to cause a lot of heartache and we'll all miss eachother. Is there hope that we'll be able to have them follow us? They are financially sound here and are not old yet, they are 52 and 60. What is the process of having them follow? Do we need to live there for a certain amount of years before we can arrange this or is it entirely based on their finances?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!
