Considering moving to Scotland

As some experts say Trump will win in 2020 I am seriously considering moving to another country. I would like to learn more about Scotland as I know my reasoning is not the best for making this decision. Things that interest me regarding Scotland are that it is similar to the weather in WI (at least I think so) where I was raised and I can tolerate the cold. Some of the things I have read about Scotland is the cost of living is more affordable than the US. As a single professional woman, this is very appealing. I currently live in a small midwestern town with few people I can relate to and folks are not that friendly. Any advice would be appreciated.
