House pests in Singapore

Don't jump to conclusions - I have a very tidy apartment and am always on top of the cleaning but I find it difficult to keep out all the pests!! I spray regularly (well, monthly) and always throw food away straight away. I have been here four months and had no real problems apart from the odd lizard, however, just recently I've noticed a couple of small droppings!!! Iv'e looked on the internet and the only obvious creature to leave droppings is rats but I'm sure it's not rats as the droppings were in unusual places like the soap dish (high up and wall mounted!) and on the side of the bathroom mirror!?! Has anyone else came across such things - it almost looks like bird droppings but I don't think it's a bird! I would appreciate any advice as to what it might be and how I can get rid of them.
