What are the downsides to living in Spain?

Hi, my family and I are seriously considering moving to Spain, probably the Costa Blanca. We have been told about all the advantages of living in Spain, but no-one has told us about any minus points - THERE MUST BE SOME!!. I would really appreciate any ex pats living in Spain giving me an honest opinion on the not so good things. What about this new law where the Spanish government can consiscate your land and make you pay for the privilege?

By the way, I have 5 young children aged from 4-14. We are provisionally looking at the areas of Denia, Javea, Elche etc. Is there a large english community in any of these areas?, what is the schooling like? etc etc.
