Castillian in barcelona

Hi guys!

Right, I need a little help. My story is that I's a spanish student here in dublin, ireland, and am going to spain next year as part of my course. Barcelona is one of my options, and I would LOVE to go there, but my doubts are about the level of castillian spanish spoken there, and hence my ability to learn it there.. would any of you good guys out there be able to tell me what the situation is with spanish in barca, how easy is it to learn spanish, and would it be a good place to go to learn spanish, in spite of the catalan factor.?
