USA citizen trying to relocate

Hi all! I am trying to find info on relocating to Spain. I would like to be able to stay for long periods at one time... like 8 mos to 1 year. I plan to work via the internet, but am also interested in teaching. Everywhere I look it just seems impossible given that I am not from the EU, or married to someone from the EU. I already speak Spanish...so.. Visa info, etc... ideas, cities big and small for single woman...Any advice would be much appreciated.
