We’re looking to migrate to Spain and would love a bit of guidance on the areas we should target to buy a house.
About us:
• 39 (British) and 42 (Australian) years old.
• Two children, boys, 2 and 7 years old (one much older daughter at University in the UK).
• Running our own remote IT business (high income).
• Non-political, non-religious.
• We have lived in Australia (10 years), the UK (5 years), and various parts of Asia due to our technology career allowing us to get international experience.
• Currently living and working near London.
• Partially speak Spanish already, and we’re happy to invest a lot of time and energy into learning more fluent Spanish to integrate better.
• We have a strong focus on education and business.
What we’re looking for:
• A nice town with a well-regarded British international school within a commutable distance (our children will learn Spanish, but we’re keen on a private/international school).
• Close to the coast is great, but we’re happy to compromise.
• A good mix of Spanish and ex-pats. We’re not looking for somewhere 100% Spanish (we’ve always lived in areas that are mixed race/nationality), but we’re keen to avoid the stereotypical English-dominated areas.
• We’ll likely rent to confirm we like the area, then buy somewhere with a budget of 700,000 – 1,200,000 EUROS.
• Mainly looking for an area with like-minded people: enjoy the lifestyle, are educated, and have an international outlook.
Hoping to get some guidance.
Thanks!
