Spain for a year!

Hi there,

We are looking at moving to Spain for 6-12 months next year. We are from a small town in rural Victoria, Australia. We are narrowing our destination to perhaps Granada or Ronda(open to suggestions). We will depart Australia just after Christmas 2024 in the hope for a chance to look around the country side before the children start school. A few questions we would love some feedback on:
1: should we book a B&B for a few weeks to get the feel or secure a long term rental prior to leaving. (how easy, hard is it to lock in long term rental?)
2: the girls will be in a public school, should i enroll them prior to arriving? (once we settle on a town)
3: does anyone know of any small villages in the south that would accommodate a public secondary school, enough restuarants, a central plaza and close enough to make day trips.

Looking forward to hearing from you all

Regards
Shar
