Vaccines, Malaria-Tabs?

Hello everybody,

I have a question I haven't found so far on this forum: How do you deal with vaccinations and Malaria tablets? When we travel to S.L on a holiday (have been there many times), we usually take them, but what if you're staying for good?
(I'll be living close to Colombo).
I'd be thankful for some insight from those already living in S.L, especially non-natives (like me) who may have be a bit more sensitive than the locals.
