Relocation to Zurich Area

I am an American citizen & will soon be married to a non-Swiss who resides in the Zurich/Horgen area. He obtained his visa through his employer, but I'm wondering if anyone has any information (based on experience) on how I need to obtain my own? I have been in contact with the Swiss Consulate in the U.S., but due to limited responses from them I wonder if there are some practical things that are not being shared with me.

Additionally, I will need to find employment in Switzerland as well. It would be ideal to find this before relocating to the Zurich/Horgen area - does anyone have any information on how I could do this?
