Work Permits

Greetings! I have a signed contract with an international Swiss-based company to work for them in Zurich. (I currently live in California). The contract is contingent upon the company obtaining a work permit for me. They tell me that they have done all the preliminary work, interviewing Swiss citizens, etc., and that the application for a work permit is straightforward but not a sure thing. My question is: does anyone have an idea just exactly how sure a thing this might be? And how long the process takes? I was told up to 60 days.

Thanks for your help. I'm very eager to move to Zurich. This seems like a good time to try a new life outside of the U.S.
