Hi all. Company wants to move me to Rotkreuz, near Zurich. I am married and have a 10 month old baby - but plan on having more. Someone told me that in Switzerland, there are no places where to leave children before they can enter kindergartenm, if available (age 4) or school (age 6) if you cannot afford a nanny.
In Spain, starting at 4 months old there are nursing homes available (not cheap, but very affordable) and there are many pre-schools programs that accept child from age 1 (honestly) - and again, at affordable prices. I was told is that there was no option in Switzerland, I asked 'then how do people do?' and was told 'woman stay at home if there is no family to help'. I cannot believe this is so!
My wife is not looking forward spending the next 8 years or so (we want to have at least 2, but preferable 3 children) at home all day caring for our kids. She wants a nursery or daycare so she can pursue her professional life. How can this be done in switzerland, then, if you are not earning very high sums?
Thanks all!
