Cost of living in Basel, Switzerland

HI!
I may receive a job offer in Basel. I would be renting, either apartment sharing or living on my own in an efficiency/one-room apartment. Do companies pay for health insurance premiums? Is health ins always private? What are the tax brackets? How much does a cup of good Cappacino cost? I have lived in Germany for 12 years so can compare it to the cost of living there too. I will be able to shop in Germany (Freiburg) for clothes, etc. How expensive are groceries? Monthly tram/bus ticket?
I am very thankful for any answers! Right now I am living in Alabama, USA.
