Expatriate Survey in Taiwan

I am currently a MBA student at California State University, Hayward and my international human resource mangement class requires me to do a survey about an expatriate in Taiwan.

1. How long is your expatriate assignment? 18 months, 2 years or other
2. What kind of problems did you have after you went to live in Taiwan because of your expatriate assignment?
1) language: Mandarin, Taiwanese local language
2) finding place to live
3) transportation problem: car, bus
4) finding staffs for daily life: food, clothes
5) problems for your family members:
- job for your spouse
- social circles or friends for your spouse
- school for your children
3. When you had these problems, how did you find helps to solve your problems? persons or places.
4. What kind of communication problems did you have with your U.S. supervisor (Your U.S. supervisor works in U.S., not in Taiwan)?
5. What kind of problems did you have with your colleagues who currently work with you in Taiwan? communication problems because of culture difference or personal reasons and etc&
6. What will you suggest for future expatriate at your company from your personal expatriate experience?
7. Did your company really support your needs on your expatriate assignment? For example, the human resource personnel and your immediate supervisor.
8. What will you recommend your company on the procedures and policies regarding to the expatriates?
9. Did you live in another country other U.S. for your company assignment before living in Taiwan as an expatriate? Anything from your last expatriate assignment is helpful for your current Taiwan assignment?
