moving to Thailand

My husband and I are contemplating a move to Bangkok. We have 2 small children (age 4 and 1). We would like to live near the ISB, but we cannot find any information on house costs? We are looking for around 300 m sq and 4 bedrooms. Also, we are coming from Florida, are there any other Floridians living in Bangkok? How easy is it to develop a network of friends? Can anyone recommend any reading material regarding cost of living, traveling around and living in Thailand.
