Question about Visas

Hi all,
I am new to the group and am hoping to benefit from you all’s real world experience. I am VERY confused by the different visas that are out there and which would be the best for me to apply for. First a little about me. Im a 41 years old U.S. citizen, with no criminal history. I receive a monthly military pension, which would sustain me nicely in Thailand. I recently visited Bangkok for the first time, I spent a month there and ABSOLUTLEY loved it. I would LOVE to live in Bangkok permanently, in fact its all I think about now that I’m back in the U.S. But alas, I do not meet the 50 year old age requirement to get a retirement visa. I had one local advise me to try the “study Thai language visa route”, which I’m happy to do, if that turns out to be the best option (I did notice there seems to be online services “language schools” that specializes in that). I’ve also heard (I don’t know if this is correct) but I’ve heard that, if you do the constant visa run route, after about 5 times they might deny you entry? Also, I’ve heard the opposite, that they don’t care how many times you come, it’s all very confusing. Oh and for land border crossings Ive been told two things. One that you receive an extra 15 days and another person told me its 30? If you can help with some accurate advice about which visa route is best for somebody trying to stay 9 years, until he turns 50 and can get the coveted retirement visa, Id really appreciate it. Thanks all!
