Hello all,
I intend to relocate to somewhere in the metro Amst. (or any lower-crime area with a bulk of gainful employment) area this Spring/early Summer but I haven't been there since I was a kid and it will be new to me again. 1.) Will someone please expain if a US citizen can very EASILY obtain a work permit after I arrive? 2.) Is it easy or difficult to even find a simple job somewhere in the Service Sector (e.g. bars/restaurants/tourism/grocery stores, etc.) until I find a real job in my field of work (which is not hiring right now) and are those simpler jobs sufficient income to support myself with for any length of time, and is there a better time of the year in which to pursue the service sector jobs? 3.) Can someone please explain to me where are the cheapest (but liveable) monthly rooms (hostles, apts. house, etc.) and how to seek, how much to move in/then what is typical cheaper monthly rent, what is a typical lease length, what things for naive newbys to avoid, etc. 4.) Is is easy (or even possible) to keep re-newing a Visa or does a work-permit cover that? I I intend to live somewhere in the EU indefinitely but I feel I should start out around metro Amst. due to the greatest influx of expats there & the most english speaking compared to the rest of the EU. I know things have really changed since I grew up around EU long ago and would appreciate any kind advice and the opportunity to network with you all, and possibly even meet some of you all after I arrive.
Comments? Tips? thanx! {please no 'sales' responses for services/products dank u}
