Tax - Claiming losses on foreign investments

Hi everyone,

My partner and I (de facto relationship) are considering a move to Netherlands as I have been offered a job there. Can anyone tell me if you can claim income deductions in Netherlands for losses obtained through foreign investments (rental properties)?

Also, if I am working but my partner isn't, are we taxed as a couple i.e. will my income be split between myself and my partner? Or will we be taxed individually i.e. I will be taxed on my full income as a single person and my partner taxed on her zero income.

Any help appreciated.
