I'm an I.T. professional from Malaysia (Asia-Pacific) whom have recently received an offer from a company in T&T.
I'm not very familiar with T&T and would like to seek assistance from anyone who can answer some questions that I have.
1. The company that offered me is Numac Energy Inc. Do any one of you know about this company and if yes, could anyone offer details on the organization? Are they well known, reliable employers? Coming from Asia, I'm always afraid of scam as it is quite common in some countries in my current region where expats are scammed. This may not apply to T&T, but I would like to know from someone here.
2. The job was offered to me without a formal detailed interview, is this common for certain jobs in T&T? The company stated that they hire based on qualification and experience, and will try a 3 months probation to ensure I am suitable for the role. While probation is common in my country, interview assessment is still carried out before hiring anyone. Is it different for some companies in T&T?
3. The job is based in San Fernando. Can anyone share their experience with this city? Is it suitable for a family of 3, myself, wife and mother who is 67 years old. I do not have children nor pets.
4. What kind of living expenses/challenges can one expect in San Fernando and T&T in general?
5. I'm a Malaysian of Indian heritage and I understand that T&T has many Indians. Would anyone be able to share experience as an Indian in T&T?
