Hi am building my house in jinja Uganda and was about to import my van from uk for use as go cart always crucial for building projects loaded with cement mixer tools solar system and generator until I found out ugandan import tax costs around £ 7000 with shipping and mombasa clearing, driving me mad making the right decision??? Have good contacts Jinja and Kampala so pretty sure this is the price,Ugandan tax now 85% of goverments valuation of my vehicle which is £5000 tho only worth £500 in uk
I know trucks are expensive there but are they really this expensive?? Mines a 2001 ford transit 250000 miles owned 6yrs so had a lot done with plenty spare parts in the back
Please help if there's anyone out there biggest question is how much and how available are dumper trucks to hire in Jinja
I also want to build a small school for local villagers on my land so anyone think I'm completely wasting my resources on this van with much cheaper options available bearing in mind i need a constant working go cart for many years would appreciate any comments
Many thanks
