wanting to live in Ukraine at least part time

I want to come to Ukraine at least two months this summer, looking for a room or cheap economical flat...I have a small pension and would like to know more about how things are since the protests etc, I have lived in Kazahkstan and russia and I am not concerned too much..I have been treated great all over the world..any help would be appreciated,
