Hello guys and girls. I would like to get everyone's opinion and maybe share an experience you have had with the U.S. Embasy in Kiev. My take is this,
Why are they allowed to take the holidays off work from both the USA and Ukraine, and get paid for both ? Any ideas ? Next:
I thought it was a nice gesture from them to have an assistant consulate and a small staff to travel from city to city throughout Ukraine to perform a few of the dutys we used to have to travel to Kiev to get done. Passports etc. So I did attend one time in Odesa and I thought it a little strange that they ( 2-3 people, that I could see ) were staying in the most expensive hotel in Odesa. And then when your majesty ( the assistant guy ) came down from his room 20 minutes late he was wearing cutoff shorts and a tshirt. Hmm,, anybody else have any experience;s with the traveling crew ?
So my last experience, ( there are many more ) I thought it was cool that they started with these virtual town hall meetings recently where we the people could actually ask questions directly to the Embassy staff..They made this possible via Webex which is just a company we pay to host the platform. Anyway they seemed to be very excited about there new service and they were sending out emaills and reminders and links to this and that and I actually read one or two of their emails ! So I was looking forward to attending to ask a few questions if possible and when they announced the time the party was to get started I really had a good laugh ! 3 pm Kiev time !!! Think about that for a minute ! That means in NYC it started at 8.am ( acceptable right,, or not, workday ) but in California at 5 am !! ahahahahaha And I thought,, well who is this meeting for !! Maybe its for the 30 expats who attended that live in Ukraine ? ,,,and im not counting the 100's of people that work at OUR Embassy or who are affliated !! And most of us Expats travel back and forth from the states to Ukraine thats why the low number of attendee's.
So all considered, I would like to be a consulate !! Work 1/2 the year, get paid for the whole year, stay at expensive hotels and travel throughout Ukraine eating the finest food possible on your dime !! Where do you apply ! ahahahaha,,,So if anybody has any experiences with them that they can share im sure they will be quite entertaining. Usually when I ask them a question via email they answer with a link that I can navigate for and hour or two looking for the answer that they actually already know !! Bon Voyage everyone !!
Russophile from Odesa, I hope you read this, and Reply !! See ya ...
