Afternoon all!
I'm a single, 26 year old, American female. I've been in Abu Dhabi for two months now. After spending my first weekends touring the historical sites (i.e. Heritage Village, Dubai, a few forts, some dune bashing and a camel ride) I fear I've already run out of things to do. I will admit, I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to finding a social circle here. I'm not the hardcore drinking type, I prefer having friends who are willing to sit around chatting in a coffee shop or share a pint over a game of pool but I haven't found any here yet. I'm also not the type to hit the bar scene alone; tried it a few times with bad results. I work with older males and while they are very nice, they all have their own families and circles. So, this leads me to the topic of this post: I've heard about the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and was curious if anyone had any insights or opinions they would like to share. I'd like to join a gym but this one seems rather expensive. Has anyone tried any of their spinning/aerobics classes? Do they make the price worthwhile and does it lend itself to the great social environment it advertises to be?
Thanks so much for your time!
