I am a 31 yr. old, single, American (Pacific Island by ethnicity, could maybe pass for Middle Eastern), female with no children, that will probably be moving to Sharjah around September 1st, 2008. I just have a few questions for those of you that may have some good advice. I would appreciate it.
>How safe is it for an unattached, American female in the region?
>Would sharing a flat be good to transition into living somewhere on my own?
>I will be making a salary of 254,000 Dhms, with an additional 90,000 Dhms housing allowance per year with a one time allowance of 38,000 Dhms for furniture. Is this amount of money standard or above for living on the economy there?
>Where would be the best place to live be in an area that is safe and not remote with a lot to do nearby?
>I am thinking about shipping my vehicle over there since I will still have to pay for it to sit in storage and monthly payments anyway (won't sell it). Any advice?
