Pet shops!?!?

Help!..have just moved to Abu Dhabi with husband on open ended contract and 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter. As a sweetener for the children about their daunting move I agreed they could have degus or gerbils each...only problem is cannot seem to find any pet shops!..let alone gerbils and degus!!..does anyone know of any pet shops where I can get hold of these to make two bored and miserable children happy again?? many thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
