I am a 21 year old british female currently considering a move to Dubai in the next 6-12 months. I have a few acquaintances who have lived there but no one close so I guess forums like these are the only way for me to find the knowledge I need.
1) Where to live? I know Dubai Marina is the place to be but is this completely unreasonable in terms of price? I am quite happy to house share with a flat mate. If your advice is live somewhere cheaper, what areas are close by to Marina that are cheaper? I don't want to live very far out.
2) Rent - I've read a lot on how this works but still slightly confused. I understand this is usually paid a year in advance as opposed to monthly like the UK but how would a 21 year old girl go about getting a loan for that crazy amount? Also, how do you find properties? Is there certain websites or lettings agencys that will assist?
3 - Job..... the most important one of them all! This will be crucial in my stay in Dubai. I've read different blogs with different ideas. Some say try and get a job before you go... others say take a 3 month visa and go out there with enough money saved then look for jobs. The latter seems the most obvious choice as I can't see many companies wanting to hire someone from the UK who would then have to hand in their notice, relocate etc before they can start!
