Customs and duties advise on moving to UK, Scotland

Hello,

I would appreciate any advise on moving to UK and taking my car and household goods for three years. Do I need to pay duties and are there customs issues that I have to aware of.

I was told that I have to hand ove rthe car title to the shipping company. Is that a fact?

Can I drive a US car in UK?

Insurances and maintenance for a 2002 Subaru Forrecster which I have had for over a year.

Things I can and cannot take.

Cost effective way to move.

Anything else I should be aware of.

I tried to reach the British Consulate, but getting a real person has not been successful.

I would appreciate hearing from you all in the next couple of days as I ship next week.
