Postgraduate work and certification

I am an American, with a BA in Psychology. I have been trying to move to the UK, specifically London, for years after studying abroad there.

Lately, I've been considering postgraduate work in Psychology (which I have my BA in), teaching, or social work.

My main concern is that even though I will be certified in the UK, will I have a good chance of getting a job there? I would hate to go through more school and subsequently not be able to work in the UK OR US.

I would appreciate ANY help on this matter, or in the matter of various ways to procure a visa (other than what is obvious).
