I need help!!

Hello... Im considering a move to the UK and haven't settled on a location yet. I can most likely get work by transfering with my current job... but there are several locations to do this at. does anyone have any good advice on narrowing down my search of different cities? any good websites that will compare cities? plus how safe would pub transportation be for a 24 year old gal by her lonesome? should I be very conserned about that? and does anyone have any advise on sharing a flat (this is most likely what I'll end up doing). Thanks!!
