We have the opportunity to transfer over to London this spring. We spent a summer there with the same company two years ago and loved it, so we are thrilled for this opportunity.
My main concern is finding a school for next fall for my son who will be 5 this winter, so he will start kindergarten in the fall of 2005. We will likely be in London for 2-3 years, so we would prefer to enroll him in an American school so the transition back to the US will be easier. I've begun looking through the options available and just about died when I discovered how expensive these schools are! My word, tuition at some of these places is astronomical! Does anyone know of any central London International or American schools that are not so cost prohibitive? Otherwise, could someone explain the English system to me? Would you recommend that to me? How expensive is that? I really want to find a place where he will thrive and where it won't be such an adjustment, coming or going, but also not break the bank. So you can better advise our salary will be $195,000 per year. With the slumping dollar we're concerned about having to budget so much of our income for school--I'm sorry but kindergarten should not cost us $20,000-30,000 a year! Also living in central London is a priority. Thank you to anyone who can help.
