Package, tax and dog questions

Moving from Chicago to London early '07.

Base salary, approx $128k. COLA $54k net of UK tax. I think this is a fair number. Thoughts?

Employer will pay for relocation costs, tax prep, trips home, shipment of 7,000lbs of household goods, etc. I will be responsibile for all housing and education costs.

What is have people experienced as far as getting a relocation lump sum to defray moving related costs (e.g., loss on sale of a car, buying new appliances, etc.,) Does one month salary seem reasonable? Anyother unexpected expenses people came across?

Will be moving a dog. I know about the requirements re rabies, but how much is the actual flight for a big dog?

Thanks for the help.
