washigton DC to UK

Please help!!! My fiancé is a non uk, non us citizen currently working in London with a work permit sponsored by his employer. So we have decided me moving to London would be the best idea for us both for right now. And Im really excited about moving but I dont know how to get started! Now here is my dilemma
1. Do I get working holiday maker Visa or a highly skilled immigrant Visa? I'm a US citizen with a master in MIS. I have 4 yrs work experience in Top Consulting firms, Booz Allen Hamilton and I'm currently with IBM. Unfortunately I havent been able to find a project that my company can send me to in the UK so I need to find work by myself. Plus I heard doing IT consulting work in the UK would require me to have the ability to work in any EU country which I dont think a working holiday maker would allow me. RIGHT?
2. I'm currently making about 80KYear. How much can I make as an IT consultant in the UK or how much would I need to make to make my currently standard of living?
3. Any tips on how to get companies to hire me directly from the US?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
